Jotun reveals the world’s colour trends of 2019, including our very own Northern Mystic.
In a fast moving world full of distractions, home is one of the few places we can authentically express who we are. In a busy life, home should be an anchor and comfort – the place where we can relax into our true selves and tell our own stories. Home is an expression of identity.
The new Jotun Identity explores the colours that characterise and reflect modern urban lifestyles around the world. To illustrate how different colour combinations can be employed to communicate different identities, Jotun has identified three distinct themes, each describing an individual mindset and way of living; calm, refined and raw.
7613 Northern Mystic belongs to the refined identity, consisting of sense-stimulating greens and yellows, given depth with different textures. The colour was created to portray the Northern spirit and developed with directions from our Creative Directors Morten Skjærpe Knarrum and Jonas Norheim.
– We aimed for a colour that could tie our whole collection together, creating a holistic feeling across all new furniture, lighting and accessory pieces, says Morten. The result is a colour fitting for the modern-day curator, whose home is a personal gallery where dialogue between colour and object create a whole greater than the sum of its parts.
